She was a Visiting Researcher with the Department of Systems and\nComputer Engineering at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada, in 2019, and an\nAffiliate Research Fellow at the James Watt School of Engineering, University\nof Glasgow, UK. She also served as a Senior Researcher at the Technology\nInnovation Institute and Lead AI Scientist at Open Innovation AI. She is\ncurrently an Adjunct Professor and AI Scientist at Khalifa University, and an\nAdjunct Research Professor at Western University, Canada. She serves as the\nIndustry Chair for the IEEE GenAINet ETI, a member of the Technical Advisory\nCommittee \u2013 AI for Good (Innovate for Impact), a Steering Board Member of the\nWireless World Research Forum (WWRF), and a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE\nVehicular Technology Society (VTS). Dr. Bariah is a Senior Member of IEEE, IEEE\nCommunications Society, IEEE Vehicular Technology Society, and IEEE Women in\nEngineering. She is the founder and lead of the Women in Machine Learning and\nData Science (WiMLDS) \u2013 Abu Dhabi Chapter, and was recently named among the\n\u201c100 Brilliant and Inspiring Women in 6G\u201d by the Women in 6G organization. She\nis a frequent speaker at international forums and industry events on topics\nrelated to generative AI, 6G, and AI-driven telecom transformation. She has\nauthored\/co-authored over 100+ research papers and book chapters in top-tier\njournals and flagship conferences and currently serves as an Editor for the\nIEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications. These limitations make it difficult for traditional enterprises to adopt AI at scale.\nThis keynote introduces Hybrid AI Agent Systems, a transformative approach that distributes AI workloads intelligently across cloud and edge environments such as on-prem clusters, PCs, and IoT devices. In this architecture, cloud AI specializes in global reasoning, planning, and multi-agent orchestration, while local AI executes tasks securely and efficiently without exposing private data. Repetitive and high-frequency tasks can be cached and executed entirely on-device, delivering lower latency, reduced cost, and improved sustainability.\nThis hybrid collaboration enables enterprise-grade AI that is secure, responsive, energy-efficient, and easier to deploy across diverse operational environments. Adlen Ksentini's research interests are Network Softwareization and Network Cloudification, focusing on topics related to ML and AI for 5G and 6G networks. He has been participating in several H2020 and Horizon Europe projects on 5G and beyond, such as 5G!Pagoda, 5GTransformer, 5G!Drones, MonB5G, ImagineB5G, 6GBricks, 6G-Intense, Sunrise-6G, AC3, Flecon-6G, and 6G-DALI. By allowing service owners to specify high-level goals and constraints, IBN lays the foundation for truly autonomous network management. In this direction, standardization efforts such as those led by TM Forum have introduced intent-driven architectures that pave the way toward self-managing networks in the 6G era. Despite this progress, today\u2019s intent frameworks largely rely on declarative formats such as JSON or YAML, which still require detailed knowledge of intent models and northbound interfaces. This creates a cognitive and operational gap between human intent and network behavior, limiting the accessibility and agility promised by autonomous networking. A natural and transformative evolution of IBN is to elevate intent expression to natural language. In this keynote, we present an LLM-centric vision for intent-based management in next-generation networks, where Large Language Models (LLMs) serve as semantic bridges between human objectives and network operations. By translating natural language intents into operational policies and configurations, LLMs can dramatically simplify service deployment and management.
